You are about to install GoMac 1.5v1 onto your Macintosh. Please read this document carefully before continuing.
Installing GoMac 1.5v1
Make sure you have turned off any virus protection software before you install GoMac.
After the installation has finished, restart your Mac to use the latest version of GoMac.
When you return to the Finder you will be presented with a folder containing GoMac's documentation, an alias to GoMac in your System Folder and information about purchasing GoMac. Be sure to read the Getting Started file to take full advantage of the powerful features available in GoMac.
If for some reason you ever need to remove GoMac, just drag it out of the Control Panels folder in your System Folder and restart.
What's new in GoMac 1.5v1?
GoMac 1.5v1 is a significant maintenance update. All users should update to 1.5v1 which fixes several "memory leaks" capable of causing system instability. Other additions and fixes in GoMac 1.5v1 are listed below.
+ Greatly improves the speed (more than 5 times as fast!) of icons in the Start Menu
+ Greatly improves the stability of Control Strip Modules when used with GoMac
+ Supports the Shift key to select the previous program in the Keyboard Switcher
+ Adds click-and-hold support for the Program Bar contextual menu for hands-free use
- Fixes numerous problems when using GoMac under System 7.5.x and on 68K Macs
- Fixes problems when waking PowerBooks from sleep mode
- Control Strip modules no longer mysteriously disappear (!)
- Fixes conflicts with RAM Doubler 2.0.2, AOL 4.0, Myth, Virtual PC, and After Dark
- With Kaleidoscope installed, the cursor no longer disappears when dragging files
- Fixes several other minor cosmetic drag and drop related issues
- Adds support for Calcomp's Ultraslate tablets in absolute (tablet or WYPIWYG) mode
Purchasing GoMac
You may use GoMac for 30 days without registering. We believe that you will become convinced of GoMac's utility. During the trial period, GoMac will occasionally (very rarely) remind you that you have not registered and will give you the opportunity to register while offering you a tip about GoMac. The longer you wait to register GoMac the more frequently you will be reminded.
It is easy to register GoMac. If you are connected to the internet you can register GoMac from within the GoMac control panel or at the Proteron web page. Bookmarks available in the GoMac folder point your browser to the online order form, or visit http://www.proteron.com/gomac.
If you are not connected to the internet, the registration form can be printed out and mailed or faxed to Proteron at the address and phone number below. Site license and educational user discounts are available, please inquire.

You are free to give away copies of GoMac, provided that neither GoMac nor its installer has been modified in any way. Please notify Proteron if you include GoMac in any publicly distributed software collection.
